The Video Club.......
Beginning in September of 2005 the Penquis Valley Video Club will be broadcasting most all home sporting and cultural events on local cable channel 3. Please check here for a schedule of broadcast events.

Attention: All High School Students...

The "Penquis Valley Video Club"

If you are interested in learning how to create video segments and presentations and edit them, then this is for you! We will be doing everything from "morning announcements", to video clips, to video productions of all types, right up to and including live TV broadcasts over  cable channel 3. School functions including concerts, meetings, plays and sports events of all types will be covered. The jobs will include, camera operators, announcers, commentators, reporters, editors and production personnel to oversee production and scheduling.

All meetings and practices will be at the end of the regular school day and all participating students will need to provide for their own transportation. There will also be numerous occasions where members will need to be at school early in the morning or late in the evenings, i.e, to set up morning announcements or to cover ballgames, concerts or school board meetings, and even graduation ceremonies! We
also hope to be travelling throughout the district to tape events at some of the other schools. We will then broadcast these at a later date, over cable channel 3, to homes in our district, providing an oppurtunity for people who couldn't make the original event to see it at home on tape delay.

If you are interested, and think you have what it takes to commit to this club/project, please leave your name and grade level with Mr. Gray or Mr. Leonard. Even though it will take a lot of hard work and commitment, just as any other extra-curricular endeavor does, we think the rewards and satisfaction of learning and working as a team will make it a great experience for all of us. Good grades and good attendance are a prerequisite. Who knows, we may just have the next Johnny Most, Walter Cronkite or Oprah on our team! Maybe even a Spielberg or DeMille!
